A flat, plain front yard doesn't do a nice house any favors. No matter how well-kept the siding looks or how solid the front door is, if the beds are bare and the approach is uninspiring, the whole property falls flat. That's exactly the kind of situation we set out to fix here.
We came in and laid fresh dark mulch across the front foundation beds, giving the plantings a clean, finished backdrop. The contrast between that rich black mulch and the existing greenery makes everything pop. Pair that with a crisp paver walkway running straight from the lawn to the front steps, and suddenly the whole front of the house has a purpose and a direction. It pulls your eye right where it needs to go.
Out back, we tied everything together with a paver patio and a built-in stone fire pit wall with seating. The curved design anchors the space without boxing it in - it gives the yard a focal point and a reason to actually use the outdoor space. We also ran mulched planting beds along the patio edge and around a specimen tree nearby, keeping the whole layout looking intentional rather than pieced together.
That's really the difference between a yard that looks okay and one that looks designed. It's not always about adding more - it's about making what's there work together. Fresh mulch, well-placed hardscape, and clean bed lines go a long way. Mulch season is in full swing, and slots are filling up fast.
