Yard Restoration and Hydroseed Prep After Septic Install

A new septic install is a big job - and when it's done, it leaves the yard looking rough. Torn-up soil, uneven ground, compacted areas that need work before anything can grow. That's exactly what we were dealing with here, and getting it back to a clean, usable yard took more than just spreading some seed around.

We started by grading the entire disturbed area to get the ground smooth and properly sloped. No low spots where water can pool, no humps that will make the finished lawn look patchy. We used a landscape rake attachment on our tracked skid steer to work through the soil and get a consistent, fine finish across the whole surface. That prep step is what makes the difference between hydroseed that establishes evenly and hydroseed that comes in spotty.

The cleared and graded area wraps from the front of the property alongside the house all the way back - including what looks like a pretty good-sized yard right behind the home. Getting all of that prepped correctly took time and attention to where the grade was pulling. We also worked carefully around the existing landscaping and the septic access point to keep everything clean and undisturbed.

Once we handed it off for hydroseed, the ground was ready. Level surface, worked soil, no loose debris sitting on top. That's what gives the seed the best possible shot at coming in full and even. No shortcuts.

A lot of people don't think about this part of the process until after the excavation crew is gone and they're staring at a mess. We handle the full restoration side - grading, cleanup, lawn prep - so that once the utility work is wrapped up, the yard doesn't stay looking like a construction site any longer than it has to.
